The Bead Stopper™ makes it so much easier to create multiple strand designs. Use a Bead Stopper to keep your strands in place and safe from accidental spills. It's an inexpensive tool that beaders can't live without!

Materials needed:
11 amber 11x16mm flat oval glass beads
12 topaz AB 6mm CRYSTALLIZED™ rounds
12 bronze pearl 6mm CRYSTALLIZED™ rounds
12 tiger's eye 4mm round gemstone beads
22 gold 6mm rondelle beads
Three 18" lengths of .018" gold Beadalon® 19
2 gold #2 crimp beads
2 gold crimp covers
Gold lobster clasp
Gold extension chain
Wire cutters
Mighty crimping tool
2 standard Bead Stoppers

Instructions:
1. Hold the beading wires together as one and pass them through a gold rondelle, an amber oval and a gold rondelle. Center the beads on the wire.
2. Attach a Bead Stopper to one side of the beaded section to hold the beads centered on the wire as you work.
3. Pass one wire through a tiger's eye bead, one through a topaz crystal and one through a pearl.
4. Hold the wires together and pass them through a gold rondelle, an amber oval and a gold rondelle.
5. Repeat Steps 3-4 four more times, and then pass each wire through a single bead as in Step 3.
6. Attach a Bead Stopper to prevent the beads from sliding off the end while you bead the rest of the necklace.
7. Remove the Bead Stopper from the center of the necklace.
8. Repeat Steps 3-5 on the other side of the necklace so the pattern is symmetrical.
9. Attach a Bead Stopper to the end of the necklace and make any necessary adjustments to the pattern or length.
10. Remove the Bead Stopper from one end of the necklace, hold the wires together, and pass them through a crimp bead, half of the clasp and back into the crimp bead.
11. Crimp the crimp bead and attach a crimp cover.
12. Repeat Steps 10-11 for the other end of the necklace.

A Bead Stopper is a patented stainless steel coil that easily clips onto beading wire or thread to prevent beads from sliding off the end. It makes it possible to leave your work for a while without worrying about losing beads or messing up the pattern. When you use a Bead Stopper, there's no more crying over spilled beads!

To Use a Bead Stopper

  • Squeeze end loops to open center coil
  • Place end of beaded strand inside coil
  • Release end loops to close center coil
