A fun way to finish a necklace or bracelet design is to make a button-and-loop closure instead of using a conventional clasp.

If you’re using a button with a shank, you will simply string a crimp tube, a few seed beads, the shank of the button, and a few more seed beads. Then, you’ll pass back through the crimp tube and crimp. If you’re using a button with holes, you will string a crimp tube, a few seed beads, one hole of the button (from back to front), a seed bead or two, the other hole of the button (from front to back), and a few more seed beads. Then, you’ll pass back through the crimp tube and crimp.

After you’ve strung the rest of your beads, you’ll finish the other end of your piece with a loop of seed beads. Start by stringing a crimp tube. Then, string as many seed beads as you need to fit around the button—don’t make the fit too tight or the loop might break from the pressure. Pass back through the tube and crimp.
