Use an S clasp to connect the ends of an asymmetrical necklace.
Materials for an S clasp:
20 or 22-gauge Artistic Wire
18 or 20-gauge Artistic Wire
(choose the wire gauge based on the desired look/strength of the clasp)
Tools
Round-nose pliers
Chain-nose pliers
Wire cutters
Hammer & bench block
Coiling Gizmo or thin dowel
Ruler
1. Use the thinner wire and Coiling Gizmo to make a coil.
2. Cut the coil to about 2 ½".
3. Cut a piece of wire that's slightly longer than the coil.
4. Use round-nose pliers to make a basic loop on one end of the wire.
5. Pass the coil onto the wire and make another basic loop.
6. Bend the wire in an S shape, using your fingers to form wide curves.
7. Hammer it gently so the wire will retain the S shape.
8. Use the coiled S as a clasp, pendant or link.
