Making Stretchy Bracelets
Stretchy bracelets are easy to make and fun to wear, especially when you mix metal sliders with beads. Whip up a few bracelets tonight and stack them up for a look that's right on trend!

16 antique brass 6mm bead gallery® rounds
satin gold .8mm Beadalon® Elasticity™ cord
2 gold Beadalon® Elasticity™ crimp tubes
Mighty Crimping Tool
Beading Scissors
- Cut two pieces of Elasticity cord that are 10” long.
- Pass a cord through one set of holes on the back of a slider.
- Pass each cord through: 6m brass, spacer, amethyst, spacer, 6mm brass.
- Repeat the beading pattern until all of the beads are strung.
- Pass each cord through a corresponding (empty) hole on the back of the first slider.
- String a crimp tube onto one end of each cord.
- Pass the other end of the corresponding cords through the opposite sides of the crimps so the crimp is hidden behind a slider.
- Use a Mighty Crimping Tool to crimp the crimp tubes.
- Cut off any extra cording.
Tips:
To make a double-strand slider bracelet using other beads, measure the sliders to determine how many beads you'll need to string between them to make a bracelet the desired length. Placing two 4mm rounds, two spacer disks and one 8mm round between each 1-1/4” slider makes a bracelet that's about 7-1/2”.
Always use the largest stringing material that will fit through the smallest bead holes. Elasticity™ cord comes in three diameters: .5mm, .8mm and 1mm and several colors – choose the one that best suits your project.
Special crimp tubes make it easy to connect the ends of Elasticity cord. Use a Mighty Crimping tool to close the crimps. Alternatively, you can tie the ends together in surgeon's knots (like a square knot but with an extra pass through the loop.) Add a drop of Beadalon bead stringing glue or GS HypoCement to Elasticity knots.
