Materials & Tools:
1.5mm round cord from Leather Cord USA
Large-hole barrel gemstone beads from Dakota Stones
Pewter button with shank from TierraCast
Scissors

Instructions:

  1. Fold a 2m length of round leather cord in half and tie an overhand knot* to form a loop that's big enough to fit over your button.
  2. String a bead onto one cord, leave a little space after then bead and then tie both cords together in an overhand knot.
  3. Keep adding beads and tying knots until you're a few inches from the end of the cords.
  4. To finish the necklace, add a button to one (or both) cords after the last knot and tie another overhand knot. Trim any extra cord ends to about a half an inch.

Alternatively, you can wear this as a wrap bracelet or fasten two necklaces together to make a longer necklace.

* For an overhand knot: Wrap both cords around your fingers to make a loop, then pass the ends of the cords through the loop and pull it tight.
