Tip: This design requires six different types of beads. To get a similar look with different beads, choose varying textures and shapes rather than using all smooth beads or all faceted beads.

Instructions:

  1. To make the following beaded wires, either leave the wire on the spool or cut one long piece and string beads onto the wire. Make a basic loop on the free end. On the spool end: bend the wire in a slight curve. Bend the wire against the last bead, cut the wire to a finger's width, and then turn it in a basic loop.
red: two wires with 6 beads, one with 9

yellow: three wires with 6 beads each
green: two wires with 6 beads, one with 7
turquoise: two wires with 9 beads, one with 19
gray: one wire with 9, two with 5

  1. Use chain-nose pliers to turn the loops so they're all facing the same direction and able to stack together. Connect the sections of the necklace together by passing a head pin through blue beads and wire loops (on both sides) in the following order:

Center sections:
blue bead + yellow wire + short turquoise wire
blue bead + long green wire + short red wire
blue bead + long red wire + short gray wire
blue bead + long turquoise wire
blue bead + long gray wire + blue bead
Side sections:
blue bead + short turquoise wire + short green wire
blue bead + short red wire + yellow wire
blue bead + short gray wire + blue bead
Outer sections:
blue bead + first chain link + short green wire
blue bead + short yellow wire + blue bead

  1. Place a crimp cover over a head pin loop at the bottom of a beaded head pin connecting the sections together. (You might need to press the loop a little bit smaller to fit inside.) Use chain-nose pliers to close the cover. Repeat to hide each loop.
  2. To finish the ends of the necklace: cut a 4” wire, make a wrapped loop to attach it to one end of the chain, pass through a red bead and make a large wrapped loop. For the other end, do the same thing but attach the clasp before closing the loop.

Tip: Have fun playing around with the semi-symmetrical design of this necklace. Pop your own accents in to give it a personal flare.

Instructions:

  1. To make the beaded bead, cut a 20” piece of WildFire.
  2. String a needle at each end of the cord. String 3 yellow rounds and let them fall to the center of the cord.
  3. Onto the right-hand needle, string 1 yellow round, and then pass the left-hand needle through the same bead in the opposite direction. Pull the two needles in opposite directions to make a loop of beads at the center of the cord.
  4. String 1 yellow bead onto each needle and let them fall to each side of the loop of beads just strung.
  5. Repeat step 3.
  6. Repeat step 4.
  7. Repeat step 3.
  8. To finish the beaded bead, pass both needles in opposite directions through the second bead you strung back in step 2. This pulls the strand of beads back onto itself, creating a sort of tunnel.
  9. Pass through a few beads and make a surgeon’s knot. Place a drop of glue on the knot and let it cure before snipping the cord.
  10. To make the necklace, cut an 18” piece of beading wire. Slide a crimp tube onto the wire and pass the wire through the loop of the clasp and back through the crimp tube. Crimp the tube and attach the crimp cover.
  11. String 26 6mm green rounds, 1 8mm red round, 1 silver spacer, 1 10mm blue round, 3 12mm blue fire-agate faceted rounds, the beaded bead, 1 coral nugget, the pendant, 2 coral nuggets, 1 blue fire agate faceted round, 1 silver spacer, 1 12mm aqua faceted round, 2 silver spacers, 2 10mm blue rounds, 1 8mm red round, 5 6mm green rounds and a crimp tube.
  12. Pass the crimp tube through the loop of the silver infinity and back through the crimp tube. Crimp the tube, trim the end, and cover with a crimp cover.
  13. Slide a crimp tube onto the remaining flexible beading wire, pass the wire through the jumpring and back through the crimp tube. Crimp the tube and add the crimp cover.
  14. String 16 6mm green rounds and a crimp tube. Pass the beading wire through the other loop of the infinity and back through the crimp tube. Crimp the tube, trim excess wire and cover.
