Turning the coins into dangles
1. String all of the round single-hole sliders and the cube crystal beads
onto individual eye pins. Use round nose pliers to make a loop on the
other side of each bead to form bead links.
2. String a teardrop crystal bead onto an eye pin with the narrow end
closest to the eye pin loop. String a knit square single-hole slider and
another teardrop crystal with the wide end closest to the square. Use
round nose pliers to make a loop. Repeat this step to make five more matching
knit square bead links.
3. String a 4mm round crystal bead, a white enamel bead and a 4mm round
crystal bead onto an eye pin. Use round nose pliers to make a loop. Repeat
this step to make five more matching enamel bead links.
4. Cut a 4” piece of .015 Beadalon wire. String twelve 4mm round
crystal beads and a crimp bead onto the wire. Pass the wire end through
the opposite side of the crimp bead to form a circle. Crimp it. Repeat
this step to make two more beaded circles.
5. String a 4mm bicone crystal bead, a beaded bead (see instructions below)
and a 4mm bicone crystal bead onto an eye pin. Use round nose pliers to
make a loop. Repeat this step to make two more matching bead links.
6. Connect the following bead links: beaded circle, knit square link,
round single-hole slider link, fancily floral connector, cube link, enamel
bead link, beaded bead link, enamel bead link, cube link, fancily floral
connector, round single-hole slider link, knit square link.
7. Repeat the pattern from Step 6 two more times. Connect the last knit
square link to the first beaded circle to fasten the ends of the necklace
together.
To make a basic beaded bead:
1. Cut a 10” length of .010 Beadalon wire. String three 4mm round
crystal beads onto the center of the wire. Pass the wires through opposite
ends of a fourth 4mm round crystal bead. Gently pull the wires to tighten
the stitch.
2. Make two more complete stitches.
3. Pass each wire through an additional bead and through the opposite
ends of the very first bead to form a cylinder.
4. Pass one wire through the last stitch again so it exits next to the
other wire end.
5. Tie the wire ends in a square knot. Add a drop of jeweler’s
cement. Let it dry, then cut off any extra wire.
