A swivel tie clasp is a beautiful way to finish a knotted jewelry design. It is especially useful for traditional knotted pearl necklaces. The clasp has a bar inside for attaching the stringing material.

To attach the swivel tie clasp, pass the needle through the first three beads in your design. Pass the needle inside the clasp and around the bar, and then pass it back through the last bead. Adjust the beads so the last bead fits snugly against the clasp.

Hand-tie the first knot, then pass the needle through the next bead and tie another knot. Pass the needle through the next bead and place a drop of jeweler's cement inside the bead. Let it dry, then cut off the short end and continue knotting.

See series 300, Beading Lesson 12 for complete knotting instructions.
